Job summary

American Heart Association is seeking an experienced Social Media Internship candidate to support the Social Media Marketing team. This role offers remote work within the Eastern States Region, 20–25 hours per week, and a pay rate of $23 per hour.

Interns will craft posts for Facebook, X and Instagram, monitor trends, analyze outcomes, and gain hands-on experience in a nonprofit environment while collaborating across regional teams and Heart U resources.

Qualifications

• Seniors or grad students pursuing relevant business or marketing degrees.
• Experience with Facebook, X and Instagram.
• Familiar with Sprout Social or similar tools.
• Proficient in Canva or similar.
• Experience with monitoring, reporting and analysis.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Reliable WiFi and availability 20 hrs/week.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Work with the digital team to craft and execute social media posts for Facebook, X and Instagram.
• Monitor results of social media content on key platforms and provide analysis of findings.
• Source new content ideas and monitor trends on social platforms.
• Conduct an analysis of what other organizations and brands are doing on social media and present findings to the digital team.
• Learn brand standards and ensure content aligns with the goals and mission of the organization.
