The role blends creative writing with hands-on social media management, ensuring content is strategic, accurate, and engaging. The ideal candidate writes clearly, adapts messaging for multiple platforms and audiences, and tracks results to inform future content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or related field.
• 4+ years in social media management and content writing across major platforms.
• Strong writing/editing; ability to translate complex topics into clear messages.
• Experience with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Meltwater).
• Familiarity with brand standards and accessibility requirements (Section 508).
• Agency or public sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and adapt social media copy and short-form content for digital platforms.
• Translate complex policies into clear, engaging public-facing messages.
• Ensure content aligns with goals, brand standards, and accessibility requirements.
• Support concepting and messaging across social, web, and digital touchpoints.
• Manage day-to-day scheduling, posting, and community monitoring across channels.
• Maintain content calendars aligned with milestones and moments.
• Coordinate approvals with internal and client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with paid media and creative teams for cohesive messaging.
• Stay current on platform trends and new features.
