Job summary

SHI International Corp. in Austin, TX is seeking an Associate Security Analyst- SOC to support the SOC team in monitoring events and alerts, identifying threats, and contributing to incident response from a remote home office.

Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, this remote role involves triage of alerts across SIEM, SOAR, XDR, firewall and cloud security, plus collaboration with IT to remediate vulnerabilities, and ongoing guidance on SOPs and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and standards.
• Certifications such as Security+ or CEH are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security alerts and events using SOC tools.
• Analyze phishing emails, suspicious URLs, and BEC indicators.
• Conduct initial analysis of security incidents and escalate as needed.
• Assist in investigation of data breaches, malware, and unauthorized access.
• Create and manage incident tickets per SOC procedures.
• Contribute to SOP development for the SOC.
• Provide timely and accurate incident reporting to management.
• Participate in threat hunting to identify potential threats.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of security platforms.
• Stay informed about latest threats and industry best practices.
