Actalent is seeking an experienced civil engineer to design and deliver commercial land development projects from survey through permitting, with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills. You will coordinate with project managers, agencies, and clients, and have opportunities to lead projects and progress into project management roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of design experience in commercial land development or site design.
• EIT certification required.
• PE license preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for site design and drafting.
• Experience with site plan design, including layout, grading, utilities, and access.
• Experience in stormwater management and planning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed commercial site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Design residential subdivisions including layout, grading, drainage, and infrastructure.
• Prepare site plan and stormwater management plans for suburban developments.
• Perform drainage and detention calculations to support design and regulatory compliance.
• Develop grading plans and interpret contours for constructible designs.
• Manage multiple projects across different phases and durations.
• Visit job sites to verify construction matches design intent and address field conditions.
• Coordinate with clients and agencies to obtain data and approvals.
• Communicate with internal teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
• Support or lead project management tasks to meet deadlines.
• Maintain accuracy and quality in design documents.
