Job summary

SOFTWARE PEOPLE INC is seeking a Security Architect SIEM Engineer to design, implement, and strengthen enterprise security infrastructure from their Saint James, NY operations. This remote role supports real-time monitoring, threat detection, and incident response across the organization.

You will work with Splunk, IBM QRadar, and Microsoft Sentinel, leveraging NIST/ISO 27001 frameworks and MITRE ATT&CK to mature security controls and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Security Architect, SIEM Engineer, or similar cybersecurity role.
• Hands-on expertise with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, IBM QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, or MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience with log management, threat detection, and incident response.
• Familiarity with network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or SIEM-specific credentials preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions across the enterprise
• Develop and optimize security architecture frameworks, policies, and standards
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents in real time
• Create and tune correlation rules, dashboards, and reports within the SIEM platform
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate log sources and data feeds into the SIEM environment
• Conduct threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis activities
• Support incident response efforts and provide forensic analysis as needed
