Job summary

Hire Emerald seeks a Shopify UX Designer – Customizer Specialist to join a fully remote LATAM team. This UX-first role focuses on building conversion-friendly storefronts using Shopify's native tools, not heavy custom code.

You will plan site structure, work in the Shopify Theme Customizer, use Figma for designs, and collaborate with clients and developers. A 2–3 month paid trial is included, and a strong Shopify portfolio is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience building Shopify stores.
• Portfolio demonstrating Shopify storefront work is required.
• Portfolio should demonstrate hands-on Shopify Theme Customizer experience.
• Strong experience with Shopify OS 2.0, sections, and blocks.
• Hands-on experience using metafields and metaobjects in Shopify Admin.
• Strong Figma skills for style guides, wireframes, and responsive mockups.
• Experience planning site architecture, navigation, collections, and filtering.
• Ability to conduct a UX audit and clearly explain recommendations.
• Strong understanding of ecommerce UX, mobile-first design, typography.
• Ability to design attractive storefront experiences within the practical capabilities of Shopify themes.

Responsibilities

• Plan site structure, navigation, menus, mega menus, and page hierarchy.
• Create Web Style Guides in Figma, including typography, colors, buttons, and component styles.
• Conduct UX and CRO audits and translate findings into prioritized recommendations.
• Develop collection and filtering strategies, including product grouping, sorting, tagging, and filtering.
• Shape PDP strategy, including buy-box layouts, product information, and cross-sells.
• Balance strong UX and visual design with what Shopify themes can realistically support.
• Stay current with Shopify updates, theme capabilities, e-commerce UX best practices, and emerging AI tools.
