Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Remote SharePoint Developer to design, migrate and govern SharePoint Online environments within a Microsoft 365 context. The role focuses on building new SharePoint environments from the ground up and migrating existing content while aligning with business needs and stakeholder input.

You will administer Microsoft 365 services, automate tasks with PowerShell, and implement governance, retention, and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, buildout, and ongoing support of a new SharePoint Online environment.
• Own migrations from on-prem or existing SharePoint into the new environment.
• Collaborate with business units to design sites meeting business needs.
• Administer Microsoft 365 including Admin Center, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID.
• Automate admin tasks using PowerShell to improve efficiency.
• Define governance policies and maintain security/compliance standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and best practices.

Job Title: Remote SharePoint Developer

Location: Remote

Compensation: $60 / HR

The ideal candidate will have experience designing SharePoint Online environments, leading migrations, developing information architecture, and working directly with stakeholders to understand business needs. This individual will play a key role in upcoming acquisitions and divestitures, helping plan and execute content migrations and organizational changes within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

Top Technical Requirements:

• SharePoint Online Environment Buildout: Lead the design, development, and ongoing support of a new company’s SharePoint Online environment. Prior experience building a SharePoint environment from the ground up is a must.
• SharePoint Migration & Implementation: Lead migrations from on-premises file servers and/or existing SharePoint environments into a new environment. Ensure successful data migration, site architecture design, and adherence to Microsoft best practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirements Gathering: Partner with business units, executives, and key stakeholders to understand business needs and design SharePoint sites and solutions that support their requirements.
• Microsoft 365 Administration: Experience administering the Microsoft 365 environment, including the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
• PowerShell Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting to automate administrative tasks, streamline processes, and support the Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments.
• Governance, Security & Compliance: Experience establishing and managing governance policies using Microsoft Purview, including retention policies and sensitivity labels.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for policies, procedures, governance standards, and SharePoint administration processes.

Nice to Have:

• Experience developing and delivering end-user training for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 applications.
