Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) is seeking a System Administrator Specialist to support NIH/NIAID’s ServiceNow environment within the BPIMB SNSS program.

You will perform daily configuration, monitor performance, and ensure security and stability across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, SecOps, and related platforms. You will collaborate with developers, architects, and analysts to validate operational readiness, maintain runbooks, and support incident response with Tier 2 assistance.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain NIH Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in system administration in a large environment.
• Hands-on ServiceNow administration, configuration, maintenance or integrations.
• Basic scripting skills (JavaScript or equivalent) used within ServiceNow.
• Experience with ITSM/IT operations workflows.
• Experience documenting procedures and following change management.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily configuration and operational tasks for ServiceNow and supporting systems.
• Monitor performance, data throughput, and platform stability; optimize resources.
• Administer user accounts, roles, permissions, and access controls per NIH/NIAID security standards.
• Support deployments, runbooks, and change management processes; provide Tier 2 support.
• Maintain documentation and perform routine health checks, log reviews, and basic root cause analysis.
• Assist with backup, restore, and disaster recovery testing as part of continuity requirements.
