Job summary

CAI is seeking a Server Engineer Intern to assist with configuring, deploying, and supporting server environments that host business applications. This fully remote internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 6, 2027 and requires a 40-hour work week during core U.S. business hours.

You will gain hands-on experience with server infrastructure, troubleshooting, automation, and cloud technologies while building valuable technical skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 3.5 GPA or higher is preferred for Junior standing.
• Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Basic understanding of Windows Server and Linux.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and firewalls.
• Ability to document technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in configuring, deploying, and supporting server environments that host applications.
• Support setup and maintenance of dev/staging/production environments.
• Monitor server health, performance, and availability; help resolve issues.
• Assist with patching and maintenance of OS and server infrastructure.
• Configure networking, storage, and security in hosted environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand hosting requirements.
• Document server configurations and SOPs; assist in environment architecture.
