Job summary

OuterBox is seeking an Associate Director, SEO Specialist to lead the day-to-day operations of the SEO Specialist team, guiding Leads and Specialists across all technical and tactical work for client engagements and new opportunities.

This fully remote role is based in the United States, with responsibilities including intake prioritization, audits, pre-launch work, pre-sales support, and delivery of signed SEO products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SEO experience with technical SEO, audits, pre-launch/migration SEO, and pre-sales support.
• Demonstrated success managing a team including managers/leads.
• Strong written and verbal communication for pre-sales and client-facing settings.
• Experience collaborating with Development, UX, and Project Management teams.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day management of the SEO Specialist team, including intake, triage, and prioritization of SEO tasks.
• Directly manage the Specialist team — including Lead SEO Specialists and SEO Specialists.
• Manage and mentor the pre-launch SEO on web projects for accurate, on-schedule deliverables.
• Serve as primary contact and quality reviewer for all pre-launch SEO work, coordinating with Web/Dev/UX/PM.
• Run point on SEO audits across the department—from scoping to delivery.
• Run point on pre-sales SEO support, including audits and technical scoping.
• Own delivery of signed SEO products from kickoff through delivery.
• Partner with the Director of SEO Operations to plan capacity and staffing.
• Set, refine, and enforce SOPs and QA standards across day-to-day work.
• Escalation point for complex technical SEO issues.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with SEO Strategists, Content, UX, Dev, Sales, and Media.
• Provide regular reporting to the Director of SEO Operations on capacity, status, and delivery.
