Job summary

NV5 Geospatial is seeking a Remote Sensing Technician to procure aerial data using LiDAR and imagery sensors across North America. You will work with pilots and survey crews, collect and ship datasets, and document field activities in a demanding, travel-heavy role.

The position requires GNSS experience, GIS/remote sensing knowledge, and the ability to operate independently in varied environments while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Interest in GIS and remote sensing; field data collection and analysis.
• Experience with GNSS survey practices and instrumentation is required.
• Proficient technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Acquire airborne data using LiDAR and imagery sensor systems.
• Collaborate with pilot/survey crews in aircraft during data acquisition.
• Collect, download, and ship geospatial data after acquisition.
• Complete extensive field documentation.
• Extensive travel by automobile and aircraft.
• Work rotations: 16 days on, 12 days off.
• Ensure safe use of vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and install sensor systems with support.
• Follow safety and operations policies in dynamic environments.
