Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a junior analyst to support mission-area analyses in geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, and space surveillance. You will help inform research, development, and acquisition decisions for space-based sensing architectures and perform architecture evaluation modeling using in-house tools.

You will work with senior staff to translate customer needs into objectives, deliver quality-controlled analyses, and communicate results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in aerospace or related field, conferred or in progress within last 12 months
  • 0–1 years of relevant professional, technical work experience
  • Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 with transcripts
  • Familiarity with Python, C/C++, and/or HPC/Linux environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required for clearance
  • TS/SCI clearance or SAP access is an advantage
  • Experience in listed mission areas is an advantage
  • Knowledge of IC/DoD practices is an advantage
  • Ability to self-manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders effectively

Responsibilities

  • Support analysis in geo-spatial, signals, space surveillance, navigation, and space protection domains
  • Assist research, development, and acquisition decisions for space-based sensing architectures
  • Perform architecture evaluation modeling using in-house or custom tools
  • Translate customer needs into project objectives with senior staff
  • Produce quality-controlled deliverables and communicate results to customers
  • Develop and present technically accurate reports and presentations
  • Defend results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in sustaining and growing analysis and simulation capabilities
  • Drive recommendations for legacy and emerging remote sensing architectures

Job description


  • Support analysis in mission areas including geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, navigation systems, and/or space protection

  • Provide analysis supporting research, development, and acquisition decisions for legacy and emerging customer space-based sensing architectures

  • Perform architecture evaluation modeling of overall performance using in-house or custom-developed analysis tools

  • Work with senior staff, management, and team members to translate customer needs into project objectives

  • Provide quality-controlled and assured deliverables to customer organizations

  • Develop and present technically accurate presentations and reports communicating analysis results and recommended solutions

  • Communicate results to technical leads, management, and customers

  • Provide initial assessments and defend unanticipated results to internal and external stakeholders

  • Aid in sustaining, developing, and growing the organization’s analysis and simulation capabilities

  • Carry out analysis driving recommendations for legacy and emerging remote sensing architectures


Requirements


  • Master’s degree from an accredited college/university program in aerospace engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited program, pursuing or conferred within last 12 months

  • 0-1 years of relevant professional, technical work experience post bachelor’s degree

  • Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 with transcripts

  • Familiarity with one or more software languages, including Python, C/C++, and/or High-Performance Computing/Linux environments

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US government

  • U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance

  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance or SAP accesses is an advantage

  • Significant experience in listed functional/mission areas is an advantage

  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community or US Department of Defense business practices, acquisition policies, or space mission portfolios is an advantage

  • Ability to self-manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and deliverables

  • Ability to maintain deliverable quality and manage customer expectations

  • Ability to take direction, work independently, and develop productive working relationships

  • Ability to interact and collaborate across a diverse team in different locations
