Job summary

Oxford Risk Management Group seeks a Senior Underwriting Specialist to independently underwrite complex Commercial Casualty risks, with emphasis on Commercial Auto, GL, and Excess Liability. You will analyze risk factors and pricing to recommend coverage structures and captive participation.

The role requires seven+ years in underwriting, strong knowledge of ISO/non-ISO forms, and experience with admitted/non-admitted markets, plus exceptional analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of progressive Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience.
• Significant underwriting experience with Commercial Auto, GL, and Excess Liability.
• Strong knowledge of ISO and non-ISO forms, endorsements, and manuscript forms.
• Experience with admitted, non-admitted, and surplus lines placements.
• Knowledge of trucking/transportation risk indicators and fleet operations.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal Commercial Casualty accounts, focusing on Auto, GL, and Excess Liability.
• Analyze operations, loss experience, financials and risk management to support pricing and program structure.
• Provide well-supported recommendations on coverage terms, limits, retentions, and captive participation.
• Review policies and endorsements; assess interactions across policy layers and exclusions.
• Identify gaps, conflicts, and unintended coverage grants; ensure proper placement structure.
• Leverage knowledge of admitted/non-admitted/surplus lines markets for placements.
• Develop expertise in trucking/transportation industry risks and safety indicators.
• Analyze loss runs and claims data to inform risk selection and pricing decisions.
