Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Senior TypeScript Backend Engineer to own backend systems powering StartaleApp and related products. You will design APIs, build scalable services, and ensure reliability across both Web2 and Web3 components.

The role requires delivering high-performance distributed systems, robust data pipelines, blockchain integrations, and maintainable architectures in a startup environment with autonomy.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern backend frameworks (NestJS, Fastify, Express).
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, service-oriented architecture, and distributed systems.
• Ability to independently design and deliver complex backend systems with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of backend architecture across multiple Startale ecosystem products.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable production APIs and backend services.
• Operate high-performance distributed systems handling large user bases and production traffic.
• Design backend systems with scalability, fault tolerance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and event-driven architectures.
• Develop blockchain integrations and indexing systems for on-chain data.
• Design efficient database schemas and optimize complex queries.
• Work across Web2 and Web3 backend infrastructure.
• Diagnose production issues, bottlenecks, and scaling challenges.
• Build observability, monitoring, and operational tooling.
• Improve deployment pipelines and engineering practices.
• Move quickly and take ownership of production-ready systems.
