Job summary

Bowman seeks an experienced Title Abstractor III to join our team remotely. You will conduct advanced right-of-way and title research to support infrastructure projects, identify ownership interests and encumbrances, and prepare accurate title documentation for acquisitions and easements.

You will serve as a technical resource to project teams and mentor junior staff. Requirements include 5+ years in title abstracting, familiarity with multi-jurisdictional research, and state certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in title abstracting, with experience supporting right-of-way projects.
• Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional title research and recording systems.
• State-specific title or right-of-way certifications preferred, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed title research for right-of-way acquisitions, including fee simple, temporary and permanent easements, licenses, and access rights.
• Examine and analyze deeds, plats, easements, liens, mortgages, judgments, probate records, and other instruments affecting title.
• Resolve ownership issues, gaps, and discrepancies in the chain of title.
• Prepare clear title abstracts, ownership reports, and supporting documentation per standards.
• Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, attorneys, and right-of-way agents to clarify findings.
