Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a Sr. Technology Architect to provide strategic and technical leadership in the design, evaluation, and governance of enterprise technology capabilities.

This role translates business objectives into scalable, secure, reliable architectures aligned with enterprise standards and roadmaps, with remote or office-based options. You will guide data, applications, and cloud architecture, mentor teammates, and partner with business, product, and delivery teams to drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree optional.
• 5+ years in solution/enterprise architecture or related leadership roles.
• TOGAF or Zachman familiarity preferred; relevant certifications encouraged.
• Equivalent education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Defines and maintains architecture principles, standards, and reference architectures.
• Leads architecture and high-level design for strategic initiatives.
• Translates business capabilities into practical architectures.
• Ensures scalability, security, reliability, interoperability, and performance.
• Develops current-state, target-state, and transition architectures.
• Participates in architecture reviews and governance processes.
• Provides guidance across delivery lifecycle and aligns with enterprise standards.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to align architecture with business priorities.
• Communicates options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to diverse audiences.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced team members.
