Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Sr. Technology Architect to provide strategic and technical leadership in enterprise architecture, translating business goals into scalable, secure designs.

You will shape current and target state architectures, govern standards, and guide cross-functional teams across cloud, data, and integrations. You will collaborate with stakeholders to balance governance with innovation, mentor peers, and contribute to a culture focused on integrity and excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field; advanced degree preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of experience in solution/enterprise architecture or related leadership roles.
• TOGAF or Zachman familiarity preferred.
• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or CDMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defines and maintains architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, reusable patterns, and technical guidance.
• Leads architecture and high-level design activities for strategic business and technology initiatives.
• Translates business capabilities, requirements, and constraints into practical architectures.
• Ensures architectures address scalability, security, reliability, interoperability, performance, and maintainability.
• Supports enterprise roadmaps by developing current-state, target-state, and transition architectures.
• Identifies dependencies, risks, gaps, and opportunities across technology domains.
• Participates in architecture reviews and governance processes; develops technology roadmaps.
• Provides architecture guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle; aligns with enterprise standards.
• Partners with stakeholders to align architecture with business priorities and long-term strategy.
• Communicates decisions and options to technical and non-technical audiences; fosters collaboration.
• Serves as a trusted advisor for technology strategy and solution design.
• Promotes consistency and reuse across units and initiatives.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced team members.
