Job summary

Jobot is actively seeking a Senior Tax Advisor to lead tax planning and advisory services for real estate investors and small business owners. This fully remote, client-facing role combines technical leadership with mentoring of junior staff in a modern virtual environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in real estate taxation, CPA/EA credentials, and 5+ years of experience, with demonstrated ability to manage relationships and deliver tailored tax plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
• CPA or EA certification required
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally including 2 years as a Senior Tax Associate or similar
• Deep understanding of real estate taxation strongly preferred
• Strong client relationship, communication, and listening skills
• Excellent time management; a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, autonomous, remote environment
• Comfortable being fully client-facing over video (business casual, clean background)
• Proficiency with tax software and technology

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary client contact, managing relationships and communicating proactively
• Create, deliver, and periodically update tailored tax plans for clients
• Research complex tax issues, citing the IRC and supporting sources, and recommend resolutions
• Coordinate clients' tax preparation needs with the prep team and ensure strategies are implemented
• Serve as a subject matter expert in real estate taxation, concepts, and transactions
• Provide technical guidance and training to less-experienced staff
• Assist with firm projects such as process improvements, proposals, and training materials
• Maintain accurate project information and client notes within the firm's project management system
• Adhere to firm and AICPA professional ethics, including client confidentiality
