Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Indian Health Service Electronic Health Records Modernization program. This fully remote role focuses on leading integration efforts across Oracle Health EHR and adjacent systems, implementing standards like HL7, FHIR, and APIs.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in large IT projects, strong documentation skills, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting medium-to-large IT projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the year.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration efforts across the Oracle Health EHR platform, ancillary systems, partner organizations, and external agencies.
• Design and implement interoperability solutions using HL7, X12, IHE, FHIR, and APIs.
• Analyze workflows to architect reliable, secure end-to-end data exchange.
• Configure, test, and maintain interfaces, system connectivity, and integration environments.
• Troubleshoot complex interoperability issues and deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and system diagrams.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, implementation, and program teams for compliant integration.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and serve as a technical lead for integration workstreams.
