Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the Edifecs platform management for VA-related deployments in a fully remote U.S. role.

You will drive architecture decisions, coordinate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, and cloud teams, optimize AWS-based Edifecs components, monitor performance, and ensure secure, scalable operations across the stack. Salary ranges from $109,623 to $126,790 annually; only candidates eligible for U.S.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise application operations.
• EDIFECS certification.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Edifecs Platform Manager leading the Edifecs application support organization, ensuring operational stability and scalability.
• Provide technical oversight, manage staffing, and drive roadmap execution.
• Partner with product, architecture, vendor, and business teams.
• Guide architecture decisions, modernization efforts, cloud scalability, and performance strategies.
• Configure and maintain Edifecs components (XEServer, XEngine, TPMs, SpecBuilder).
• Guide EDI Analysts with building, deployment, and optimization of Edifecs processing rules and workflows.
• Analyze and resolve mapping issues, validation failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Manage JVM tuning, logging, and certificate configurations.
• Support release deployments, environment refreshes, patching, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams, and business units.
