Job summary

Randstad Digital Americas is seeking a highly experienced systems engineer to install, operate, and maintain Linux/VMware environments on HPE hardware and in Azure Cloud. You will manage virtualized, high‑availability, and standalone systems, perform patching, capacity planning, and disaster recovery preparations using Veeam.

Requirements include 11+ years with Red Hat Linux/VMware, Red Hat Satellite, scripting, and strong security posture.

Qualifications

Minimum 11 years' experience managing and maintaining Red Hat Linux and VMware environments including Red Hat Clustering, Resilient Storage and High Availability.
Experience with upgrading and patching using Red Hat Satellite required.
Proficient in scripting to create, modify, execute, and automate scripts to perform needed system functions; Red Hat Ansible a plus.
Experience with Backup, Recovery, Data Protection; expert proficiency with Veeam Backup & Replication required.
Experience with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Proliant BL Blade and DL Rack servers, c7000 and Synergy 12000 enclosures.

Responsibilities

Analyze, evaluate, plan, implement, configure, patch, upgrade and tune software and hardware in virtualized, highly available and stand‑alone environments.
Document procedures and update standards for new or modified systems and environments.
Ability to work in a datacenter environment to provide technical support and asset management.
Follow Change Management policy and incident resolution timelines.
Review Red Hat and VMware security notifications and deploy updates if deemed necessary.
Gather, evaluate, and measure data on performance/capacity and report on key measurements.
Proactively identify problems and provide solutions to management before implementing change.
Prevent downtime, increase system availability, monitor performance, manage disk capacity, and ensure system security.
