Job summary

Vida is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Enablement Team. You’ll be Vida's first dedicated SRE, report to the Engineering Manager, and work remotely with no time-zone restrictions.

You’ll modernize, consolidate, and scale infrastructure as Vida takes on enterprise contracts starting January 1. You will consolidate Terraform, automate builds with GitHub Actions, improve observability with Datadog and Cloud Monitoring, and design access controls for contractors while keeping PHI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• 5+ years in SRE/DevOps or infra engineering with production ownership.
• Deep Terraform experience across environments.
• Strong GCP knowledge including GKE, Cloud SQL, IAM, networking and cost management.
• Production Kubernetes experience with autoscaling and resource management.
• Hands-on observability tooling with Datadog or Cloud Monitoring.
• Python for tooling and automation.
• Ability to explain infra decisions to non-specialists.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate Terraform patterns into a clean, documented structure.
• Normalize environments and improve build/deploy automation in GitHub Actions.
• Apply patches and upgrades to Cloud SQL and runtimes.
• Right-size compute and DB workloads for growth.
• Evaluate Kubernetes architecture and multi-cluster considerations.
• Improve monitoring/observability to catch incidents early.
• Design observability access for contractors while protecting PHI.
• Retire legacy infra and tooling and build runbooks/on-call docs.
• Support readiness for January enterprise launches.
• Carry out additional duties as needed.
