Job summary

GeoDelphi, Inc. dba Whitespace is seeking a mid-to-senior level Software Engineer to join a remote-enabled federal project enhancing AI-driven population simulation and geospatial capabilities.

You will contribute across backend systems, collaborate with Agile teams, and support clients on technical feasibility and delivery. The role requires strong Java and Python skills, 5+ years of experience, and a focus on DevOps, CI/CD, and scalable production software within a national security context.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software.
• Define architecture requirements and standards for design and development.
• Consult with management and customers on feasibility of product plans.
• Incorporate emerging technologies and ensure maintainability.
• Strong coding with emphasis on quality and testability.
• Proficient in Java and Python.
• Experience with DevOps and CI tools.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Provide product demonstrations and engage with clients.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, design, modify, write, test software for population simulation.
• Define project requirements with customers and translate to timelines.
• Collaborate across Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support solutions.
• Write clean, tested code in Java and other languages.
• Recommend improvements to existing processes.
• Prepare and release software components.
• Provide technical support for applications and infrastructure.
