Job Description

As a recognized multidisciplinary expert, you will drive functional performance by designing and implementing solutions to enable or accelerate the delivery of new or improved products. You will serve as a multidisciplinary technical leader at group, department, and cross-functional levels, defining high-level enterprise-wide architecture focused on mapping IT capabilities to business needs. Your role includes managing the linkage between strategic planning, performance management, and investment management. Technology Architects will be aligned to specific areas such as Information, Solution, System, User Experience (UX), or Data, and will serve as leaders within the BTS Operations Architecture Community of Practice (CoP).

Responsibilities

  1. Create solutions and architecture models that enhance organizational effectiveness, ensuring investments support strategic goals and enable quick responses to market changes and new opportunities.
  2. Develop and implement discipline strategies aligned with functional goals and business objectives, collaborating with experts to integrate technical objectives into product or technology development activities.
  3. Advance technical expertise within the function, proactively sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and assessing emerging business challenges to achieve goals.
  4. Ensure the quality and effectiveness of major project plans through sound design, risk assessments, and fallback strategies.
  5. Provide strategic consultancy to customers for defining business processes and identifying enabling technologies, while assessing emerging technological trends for relevance.
  6. Drive strategic business thinking to maximize investment benefits, creating innovative approaches and breakthrough ideas valued by customers.
  7. Build relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and industry peers to further organizational goals, adhering to Abbvie Values and policies.
  8. Present technology concepts and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, maximizing impact and value of expertise.
  9. Ensure compliance with corporate standards, including policies on conduct, safety, GxP, and data security.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree with 10 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 9 years’ experience; PhD with 5 years’ experience.
  2. Experience in sophisticated business environments, especially in healthcare, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.
  3. Experience across various IT roles, including technical, application development, business systems, and data management, with a proven ability to influence and innovate.
