Job Duties And Responsibilities

1. Analyze business requirements; identify product impact and possible implementation options and recommend the best solution for customers and Harris Local Government (HLG).
2. Create and maintain application code adhering to design specifications and HLG standards, ensuring ease of maintenance.
3. Perform code reviews for technical accuracy, standards compliance, and requirements fulfillment.
4. Provide Level 2 support for applications.
5. Estimate work effort as requested.
6. Meet deadlines related to product release timelines and complete development tasks on time.
7. Fulfill administrative reporting requirements.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of IBM AS/400 (PowerSystems) RPG-ILE programming experience.
• Experience with IBM AS/400 hardware/software migrations and troubleshooting hardware issues.
• Experience with software requirements specifications and understanding design requirements.
• Team development experience and strong communication skills.
• Customer-service orientation and ability to work independently or in a team.
• IBM DB2 experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with testing (unit, integration, automation).
• Knowledge of county government software operations, billing, or financial systems.
• Knowledge of VTL, RDX drives, and Evault cloud backup.
• Basic knowledge of IBM Web Instances and PHP.
