Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements; identify product impact and possible implementation options, and recommend the best solutions for customers and Harris Local Government (HLG).
• Create and maintain application code that meets design specifications, adheres to HLG standards, and is maintainable.
• Perform code reviews for accuracy, standards, and compliance with requirements.
• Provide Level 2 support for applications.
• Estimate work as requested.
• Meet deadlines related to product releases and complete development tasks on time.
• Fulfill administrative reporting requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of IBM AS/400 (PowerSystems) RPG-ILE programming experience.
• Experience with IBM AS/400 hardware/software migrations.
• Hardware troubleshooting experience with IBM AS/400 and peripherals.
• Strong skills in software requirements specifications and understanding design requirements.
• Experience working in a team environment developing software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• IBM DB2 experience.

Preferred but Not Required

• Experience with testing (unit, integration, automation).
• Knowledge of county government software, billing, or financial systems.
• Knowledge of VTL, RDX drives, and Evault cloud backup.
• Basic knowledge of IBM Web Instances and PHP.
