Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Analyze business requirements; identify product impact and possible implementation options and recommend the best solution for customers and Harris Local Government (HLG).
2. Create and maintain application code that meets design specifications, adheres to HLG standards, and is easy to maintain.
3. Perform code reviews for technical accuracy, standards compliance, and functional requirements.
4. Provide Level 2 support for applications.
5. Estimate work efforts as requested.
6. Meet deadlines related to product release timelines and complete development tasks on time.
7. Fulfill administrative reporting requirements.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of IBM AS/400 (PowerSystems) RPG-ILE programming experience.
• Experience with IBM AS/400 hardware/software migrations and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of software requirements specifications and design interpretation.
• Experience working in a team environment developing software.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Customer-service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• IBM DB2 experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with testing (unit, integration, automation).
• Knowledge of county government software operations, billing, or financial systems.
• Knowledge of VTL, RDX drives, and Evault cloud backup.
• Basic knowledge of IBM Web Instances and PHP.
