Job Duties And Responsibilities

1. Analyze business requirements; identify product impact and possible implementation options and recommend the best solution for customers and HLG.
2. Create and maintain application code that meets design specifications, follows HLG standards, and is easy to maintain.
3. Perform code reviews for technical accuracy, standards, and compliance with requirements.
4. Provide Level 2 support for our applications.
5. Estimate work efforts as requested.
6. Meet deadlines related to product release timelines and complete development tasks on time.
7. Fulfill administrative reporting requirements.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of IBM AS/400 (PowerSystems) RPG-ILE programming experience.
• Experience with IBM AS/400 hardware/software migrations and troubleshooting hardware issues.
• Skills in software requirements specifications and understanding design requirements.
• Experience working in a team environment developing software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• IBM DB2 experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with testing (unit, integration, automation).
• Knowledge of county government software, billing, or financial systems.
• Knowledge of VTL, RDX drives, and Evault cloud backup.
• Basic knowledge of IBM Web Instances and PHP.
