Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Security Manager to lead day-to-day security operations for a client contract. You will act as the single point of contact for network and service-related matters, directing contractor staff and subcontractors with authority to resolve issues in real time.

The role requires 24x7x365 availability to manage NOC/SOC concerns and coordinate with executive teams. Travel to Tallahassee, FL may be required; this is a remote position with occasional on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in supervisory or leadership roles.
• Experience in operational or security engineering roles.
• Experience managing SIEM platforms, security analytic tools, endpoint detection, triage, containment, and recovery.
• Deep understanding of threat intelligence, DDoS mitigation, and incident response lifecycle.
• Proficient in MPLS, SD‑WAN, VPN, firewalls, and access control in large telecom environments.
• Familiarity with zero‑trust architectures, network segmentation, and multi‑tenant isolation.
• Experience with NIST 800‑53, FISMA, CJIS, FedRamp, or equivalent frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior engineering point of contact for security escalations and issue resolution.
• Direct Contractor staff and subcontractors in NOC/SOC-related responsibilities.
• Maintain 24/7/365 availability for critical support and incident response.
• Oversee End-to-End SOC operations including real-time detection, triage, containment, and recovery.
• Lead internal security audits, vulnerability assessments, and patch management verification.
• Translate complex security risks into business terms for clients and executive stakeholders.
