Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Deputy Operations Lead, Engineering to provide technical and operational leadership across SOC engineering. You will guide system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure 24x7 readiness of critical SOC infrastructure, and assume full authority when the Operations Lead is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 6 years of relevant experience, with 4 extra years substitution allowed.
• US citizenship and active Top Secret clearance required.
• Experience administering Windows Server and Linux/UNIX.
• Experience with VMware/Hyper-V and government cloud environments.
• Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational leadership to SOC teams.
• Lead shift coverage, on-call rotations, and surge staffing.
• Deliver security briefings to federal clients and leadership.
• Maintain SOC SOPs, runbooks, and documentation.
• Coordinate with SOC Analysts and Threat Intelligence teams.
• Support compliance with NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and STIGs.
