Job summary

CSG seeks a Senior Risk Analyst - Risk Investigations to oversee collections activity and funding return processes within Forte payments ecosystem. You will lead investigations of high-risk accounts, coordinate with operations and finance, and interact with merchants and external stakeholders to resolve complex cases.

Responsibilities include managing collections lifecycles, reviewing aging, initiating outreach, and ensuring accurate case records.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payments risk, collections, or financial investigations.
• Strong knowledge of ACH return codes and dispute resolution.
• Experience with merchant acquiring or fintech risk operations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and draw defensible risk conclusions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to engage merchants and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end collections lifecycle for merchant accounts with balances.
• Review aging reports and prioritize collection queues based on risk.
• Coordinate outreach to merchants and repayment plans.
• Maintain records in case management systems.
• Identify patterns and propose process improvements.
• Oversee funding returns processing and reconcile.
• Investigate root causes of return activity and determine remediation.
• Coordinate with Payments Operations and Accounting for timely processing.
• Monitor return rate thresholds and flag accounts.
• Investigate elevated risk cases and perform risk actions.
• Support underwriting reviews for merchants.
• Serve as escalation point for staff on complex cases.
• Approve and document escalations within authority.
• Partner with senior management to resolve high-risk cases.
• Analyze data to surface trends and prepare management reports.
• Contribute findings to firm-wide risk reporting.
