Job summary

Commence seeks a Senior Quantitative Researcher to implement and evaluate CMS/CMMI alternative payment models, translating policy goals into data-driven methods. You will design evaluations, partner with cross-functional teams, and produce actionable insights for federal health programs.

We value hands-on experience in CMS/CMMI projects, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive methodological innovations using the Commence platform.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics, health services research, health policy, public health, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s with 8+ years.
• Hands-on CMS/CMMI APM implementation/evaluation experience preferred.
• Experience with quantitative methods for healthcare spending, utilization, and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Translate model design documents and policy goals into operational methodologies using Medicare/Medicaid data and surveys.
• Design and conduct evaluations with quasi-experimental methods to estimate impacts.
• Collaborate with economists, data scientists, and engineers to apply ML methods on the Commence platform.
• Lead methodology documents, evaluation reports, and briefings for CMS/CMMI model teams.
