Emergent Software is seeking a Senior Software QA Engineer to own quality on data-driven web applications. This remote role collaborates with developers, product owners, and clients throughout the agile lifecycle, with a focus on test strategy, automation, and risk-based testing.

The ideal candidate excels in communication, planning, and hands-on testing, and embraces AI-assisted testing techniques to improve efficiency, while maintaining strong quality status across projects.

Qualifications

Experience on an agile team as a Quality Engineer, owning test strategy and execution across the project lifecycle.
Ability to decide where automation adds value vs manual testing.
Strong understanding of web apps, APIs, databases, and cloud basics.

Responsibilities

Build test coverage that matches project risk and communicate decisions to the team and client.
Plan test cases for user stories and features with the agile team.
Coordinate regression testing and client testing, using automation where it adds value.
Perform hands-on testing against acceptance criteria throughout each project.
Coordinate UAT directly with clients and explain quality status to non-technical stakeholders.
