Job summary

Allied Public Risk, LLC, an exclusive underwriting manager of customized management liability products for public entities, seeks a full-time Senior Underwriter to join its team onsite in Harrisburg, PA.

Responsibilities include overseeing production and profitability, reviewing submissions, analyzing loss runs, and coordinating with UW Support to ensure error-free policies. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years underwriting public entities insurance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred.
• Public Entity and Municipality insurance experience a plus.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills stated.
• Strong analytical skills and pricing ability.
• Solid computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office products.
• Strong negotiation skills with ability to close opportunities.
• 0%-20% travel flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production, underwriting, and profitability of book of business to meet targets.
• Review new submissions for risk qualification and required documentation.
• Analyze loss runs and calculate loss ratios for quotes and renewals.
• Prepare referrals to Lead Underwriter for release or submission.
• Meet new business hit ratio and renewal retention goals.
• Assist in technical training for underwriting team members.
• Coordinate with UW Support to issue error-free policies and endorsements.
• Review and analyze complex policies.
• Participate in new business development per program plan.
• Maintain relationships with production sources and carriers.
