Placements24 is seeking a distinguished Senior Project Manager, Mining to lead critical development and operational projects in the Welkom mining region. This high-impact role requires extensive experience in mining, overseeing capital projects, safety and sustainability, and strategic planning with executive visibility.

You will manage diverse teams, drive risk assessments, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver on time and within budget while reporting to executives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive project management experience in mining.
• Bachelor's degree in Mining or related technical field; Master's preferred.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale mining projects including CAPEX.
• Deep knowledge of mining operations, equipment, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage strategic project plans for mining operations.
• Oversee project teams, providing leadership and technical guidance to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments specific to mining environments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage relationships with government agencies, suppliers, and community representatives.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Track project performance, analyze data, and report status to executive leadership.
