Why We Need You

CSH is seeking a results-oriented individual committed to sharing their talent to support a mission-driven organization that leads efforts to expand housing and service solutions for highly impacted populations. Applicants must live or relocate to Virginia, Maryland, Delaware or the District of Columbia. This position will be remote.

What You Will Do

  • Lead projects that preserve and/or increase quality supportive housing throughout the Mid-Atlantic region (VA, MD, DC, DE). Manage project staff, budgets and implement policy, program and products. Work toward achieving defined outcomes.
  • Manage projects independently by ensuring deliverables are completed within the scope, budget, and timeframe. CSH expects project managers to foster a work environment based on quality teamwork, mutual accountability, and high-quality performance. Identify and implement project next steps and leverage opportunities within projects and portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain valuable relationships and partnerships to foster collaboration between CSH and state and local partners to build support and capacity for supportive housing.
  • Provide systems transformation support to government partnerships across sectors.
  • Promote affordable & supportive housing through consulting, training, technical assistance to local government, nonprofits and private sector partners. Technical assistance includes partnership development, service delivery best practices, assistance navigating community opposition, policy development, and other areas as needed.
  • Develop written resources, trainings, and tools. Create and deliver in person and virtual technical assistance, trainings, and webinars.
  • Represent CSH in internal and public forums, including CSH committees, training sessions, public presentations, and meetings with external partners, policymakers, and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities and lessons from projects to disseminate recommendations and impact across CSH teams and regions, making appropriate connections to share knowledge, experience, and advice. Support business development and teamwork planning.
  • Contribute to, update, and/or maintain reporting systems and other tracking tools related to CSH’s reporting requirements.
  • Perform any other organization-related duties or special projects as directed by the Associate Director.
  • Support business development including proposal writing, scoping projects, marketing, tools and resource creation, and brainstorming of CSH products and services for the field.
  • Identify opportunities and learnings from projects, to disseminate information across CSH teams, making appropriate connections to share knowledge, experience, and advice.
  • Work with agility and curiosity with other related duties or special projects as assigned. Use entrepreneurial and agile skills in project implementation, identifying problems and seeking solutions.
  • Provide leadership over assigned portfolio area or through execution of projects and programs. Moderate support and coaching to understand new concepts. Connects their work and portfolio to other leaders within CSH to share best practices, innovations, learnings and information.
  • With support, help advance CSH's goals in political environments. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and identify competing interest.

Specifically, We Are Seeking

  • 10+ years experience in the field of supportive housing or affordable housing. Experience in other related fields such as behavioral and primary healthcare, homeless systems, community development may be considered.
  • Any combination of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. This includes lived experience of homelessness, housing instability, behavioral health services, participation in housing programs, etc. and professional and/or volunteer experience in the homelessness field.
  • Previous project management experience with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and the ability to manage project teams, project budgets and deadlines.
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of a decision-making process.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions and train large size groups both virtually and in-person.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitation and training, active listening, and ability to present to multiple stakeholders.
  • CSH uses a Microsoft Office environment. Proficiency is required or a commitment to self-learn and achieve proficiency upon hire.
  • Candidates must provide their own access to a secure high-speed internet signal (preferably hard wired) at a capacity sufficient to support video, web, and email processing simultaneously based on their personal work environment. This is typically 100Mb and above.
  • Travel required.

Compensation

CSH offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our range for SPM is:

  • Washington DC $109,000-$123,000
  • Baltimore $97,000-$110,000
  • Wilmington $97,000-$109,000
  • Richmond $92,000-$104,000

Our ranges are broad, and it is customary for candidates to join CSH at the lower half of the range to leave room for growth, learning, and development in the role and range. Pay rates are set using a 50-mile metro area approach; the ranges could vary up or down based on a candidate’s location. It is uncommon for salaries to fall above the mid-point at the time of hire. We negotiate actual salaries with final candidates based on their exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
