Job summary

IREC is seeking a Sr. Program Manager to advance Local Initiatives and accelerate EV adoption and charging through the Charging Smart program.

You will partner with communities, provide technical assistance to local governments, and drive permitting, planning, and utility engagement efforts. You will engage in policy evaluation, resource development, and cross-team collaboration to meet aggressive program goals in a grant-funded setting through July 31, 2027, with potential extension based on

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant work experience in municipal/regional government affairs, public affairs, solar, EV charging, or renewable energy.
• Strong stakeholder outreach and program recruitment experience.
• Clear, persuasive technical writing skills.
• Ability to work independently with distributed teams and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel ~5% and engage at local, regional, and national meetings.

Responsibilities

• Support outreach to recruit communities to the Charging Smart program.
• Promote program benefits to stakeholders.
• Assist local governments in identifying and implementing EV charging market programs.
• Evaluate local policies against Charging Smart best practices.
• Design and deliver presentations to local government officials.
• Manage external contractors to meet project goals.
• Facilitate meetings with local officials and stakeholders.
• Lead internal groups on program evaluation, outreach, and recruitment strategies.
• Support Salesforce data maintenance and program reporting.
• Develop resources (white papers, fact sheets, presentations) for program adoption.
