Job summary

Banner Health seeks a Profee Coder | Physician Practice Senior Coder with 5+ years of Cardiology Complex Coding experience to join our remote coding team. Ideal candidates have CPC in active status and extensive Surgical Cardiology coding experience.

Responsibilities include complex coding of diagnoses and procedures, QA, training, and mentoring. The role requires independence, familiarity with ICD/CPT, and ability to work remotely across multiple states.

Qualifications

• 5+ years recent experience in Surgical Cardiology Profee EM coding.
• Active CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT certification preferred.
• Remote-work capable and able to work across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Code complex diagnoses and procedures accurately per national guidelines.
• Abstract records and obtain missing information for complete documentation.
• Provide quality assurance to ensure CMS, OIG and HCFA compliance.
• Mentor staff and assist in onboarding new coders.
• Lead coding round tables and training discussions.
