Job summary

Covia is seeking a remotely based Senior Process Engineer who will provide mineral processing design, analysis and engineering services to Operations and perform process optimization studies to decrease cost, improve yield, recovery, and quality.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years engineering experience and an engineering degree, with preference for mineral processing or heavy industry background.

Qualifications

• S. or equivalent degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Preference given to candidates with mineral processing or heavy industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete process work to support project scope, flowsheets, material balances, equipment testing, sizing and process control.
• Oversee development of Sequence of Operations for Capital projects.
• Collaborate with Controls and Automation Engineers on P&IDs and with outside firms on projects.
• Manage startup and commissioning for major capital projects; lead startup meetings and reporting.
• Conduct plant process investigations to improve throughput, yield, quality, and cost.
• Provide technical training to plant staff on engineering subjects and processes.
