Job summary

Newbridge is seeking a Senior/Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry to lead peptide drug design from concept to candidate. You will own the chemistry strategy for first-in-class programs and collaborate with AI/ML, CADD, biology, and translational teams to compress timelines from idea to IND.

The role requires a PhD and 8+ years in pharma, with peptides/proteins advanced to IND/clinic. The team is distributed across the US and China, offering startup velocity with ownership and equity.

Qualifications

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or related field.
• 8+ years industry experience in major U.S. pharma companies with peptides/proteins advanced to IND/clinic.
• Startup experience: thrive in agile, ownership-driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of First-in-Class peptide therapeutics against novel, high-value targets.
• Drive SAR campaigns across macrocycles, stapled peptides, and peptide-drug conjugates.
• Partner with AI/ML, CADD, structural biology, DMPK, and pharmacology for rapid cycles.
• Advance programs through hit-to-lead, lead optimization, and IND-enabling studies.
• Represent Medicinal Chemistry on core project teams and mentor junior scientists.
