Job summary

DrFirst is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to lead end-to-end integration of medication data feeds from national and regional payers. You will design, build, and support direct payer integrations while owning both technical execution and business relationships with payer partners.

You will mentor engineers, drive SOPs for scalable payer connectivity, and collaborate with product to define repeatable delivery. Remote-first role with opportunities to influence across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years in healthcare integration engineering with focus on payer connectivity.
• Deep understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7 FHIR, HL7 v2, X12 EDI).
• Proven ability to manage external business relationships.
• Strong project management skills coordinating multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience with Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/Node.js.
• Background in CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end integration of medication data feeds from national and regional payers.
• Design, build, and support direct payer integrations with major payers.
• Act as technical subject matter expert for payer-specific integration requirements.
• Serve as primary technical and business contact for payer partners.
• Own business and technical relationships with payer partners; align requirements and timelines.
• Build, maintain, and optimize prior authorization integrations.
• Troubleshoot complex PA issues across payer systems; improve authorization success rates.
• Mentor Integration Services Engineers; develop team capabilities.
