Job summary

OneOncology is seeking a Senior Medical Coding Specialist to ensure accurate CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS coding across oncology services. You will audit documentation, answer coding questions, and coach junior coders within a remote RCM team, while supporting compliance and ongoing education.

Requires CPC or CCS-P certification and 4+ years in physician practice/hospital coding, with oncology experience and strong communication skills to drive coding accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• CPC or CCS-P professional coding certification required.
• Minimum of 4 years coding experience in physician practice or hospital.
• 2 years chart audits or CPT/ICD-10 coding with oncology focus required.
• Experience coding Medical Oncology/Radiation/Surgery and E/M leveling.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS and modifiers.
• Excellent communication and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily charge review of visits, diagnoses, oncology services, and procedures to ensure accurate coding.
• Audit physician, APP, and clinical staff documentation for correct CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS coding.
• Answer coding questions and support complex coding scenarios.
• Assist onboarding and training of new coders.
• Prepare reports on audit results and coding compliance.
• Collaborate with department to apply current coding regulations.
• Review charges/claims in EMR/Practice Management System.
