Job summary

Sentinel Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and support secure networks for mid‑to‑enterprise clients, reporting to our Downers Grove, IL HQ. The role is full‑time with remote work flexibility when not at client sites.

You’ll work hands‑on with Cisco routers and switches, deploy Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, and architect large‑scale security solutions while traveling to client locations as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and/or Fortinet solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches is required.
• 5+ years designing and implementing large-scale network security solutions.
• CCNP Certification or equivalent certification or higher is preferred.
• Experience with Cisco Security products such as FDT, FMC, AMP, Umbrella.
• Experience in migrations/upgrades on various platforms is a plus.
• Familiar with wireless networks using Cisco WLC in centralized or converged deployments.
• Cisco ACI and SD-WAN experience is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support secure network solutions for client environments.
• Work hands-on with Cisco routers and switches to optimize networks.
• Deploy and manage Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewall solutions.
• Architect and implement large-scale security solutions (3+ years of experience required).
• Configure Cisco Security products such as ISE, FMC, AMP, and Umbrella.
• Perform migrations and upgrades across network and security platforms.
• Implement wireless networks with Cisco WLC in centralized and converged deployments.
• Work with Cisco ACI and SD-WAN where applicable.
• Provide exceptional customer support and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
