Job summary

Ad Hoc LLC is hiring a Senior Network/Security Engineer to design and operate secure, scalable network and security services for federal civilian and other clients. You will manage web proxies, firewall policies, and data protection controls across a remote, nationwide team.

Responsibilities include configuring network security, enforcing Zero Trust, and ensuring compliance with NIST standards while supporting incident response and log analytics with Splunk/ELK.

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise network security engineering and threat modelling.
• Must have hands-on experience with firewall policy, RBAC, and access controls.
• Ability to operate and optimize web proxies and secure traffic in large-scale environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and engineer enterprise web proxy and implement reliable policy changes.
• Configure network ACLs, firewalls, and security groups to enforce policies.
• Design secure network infrastructure with Zero Trust principles for DXP.
• Ensure compliance with IRS/NIST boundary protection standards.
• Proxy engineering tasks: PAC/WPAD, SSL/TLS inspection, and safe bypass strategies.
• Troubleshoot with tcpdump/Wireshark and analyze logs at scale (Splunk/ELK).
