Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex mechanical systems, sub-systems, and components for automated machinery and robotics using advanced CAD software.
• Conduct rigorous analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to ensure the structural integrity and performance of designs.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) compliant with industry standards.
• Collaborate effectively with remote cross-functional teams, including controls engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to achieve project goals.
• Perform root cause analysis on design failures and implement robust solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Oversee the prototyping and testing of mechanical designs, ensuring they meet stringent performance and reliability criteria.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, cost-effectiveness, and maintainability in a global production environment.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in mechanical engineering, automation, and robotics.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and methodologies within the engineering department.
• Lead and participate in virtual design reviews, providing expert technical insights and ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on automation systems, robotics, or complex machinery.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Deep understanding of machine dynamics, kinematics, materials science, and precision engineering principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly in a virtual environment.
• Experience with mechatronic systems and servo drive integration is highly desirable.
