Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Logistics Network Analyst to optimize global distribution networks. This fully remote role focuses on data-driven insights and strategic planning to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support scalable logistics operations from anywhere in South Africa.

You will model networks, run scenarios, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable improvements and mentor junior analysts in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain analysis, or network design.
• Experience with large-scale distribution networks.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar.
• Excellent understanding of logistics principles.
• Ability to translate data into actionable recommendations for senior management.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a remote setting.
• Experience with BI tools for data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing logistics network to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Develop network models to simulate scenarios and forecast needs.
• Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and finance to gather requirements.
• Use data analytics tools to extract insights from transportation, warehousing, and inventory data.
• Design optimal network configurations including locations, inventory positioning, and routes.
• Build business cases with costs, benefits, and implementation plans.
• Monitor KPIs and report performance trends and deviations.
• Mentor junior analysts and develop analytical capabilities.
