Job summary

WEX Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the Mobility Engineering team. You will design scalable backend solutions, build RESTful APIs, and modernize legacy systems while ensuring stability.

Collaborate with distributed teams to deliver high-quality, cloud-enabled software within a highly regulated payments domain. You will drive TDD/BDD, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and mentor teammates in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
• Experience with event-driven microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
• Strong DB skills with SQL, Postgres, Liquibase.
• Proven CI/CD experience and cloud deployments.
• Comfortable in agile teams and collaborating across distributed teams.
• Ability to write technical design docs and work with Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to design scalable backends.
• Design, implement, and maintain REST APIs in Java.
• Modernize legacy systems while maintaining stability.
• Mentor teammates and drive engineering best practices.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
