Worth seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own integrations, driving the systems that connect Worth to the outside world. You’ll design and operate the integration layer serving 700M+ SMB records, break down partner APIs into clear plans, and anticipate rate limits, schema drift, outages and data-quality issues across many upstream systems.

You’ll lead by example in code reviews, mentoring, and shaping API design, while delivering robust backend and frontend code with Node.js, TypeScript,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ownership of major features or subsystems in production.
• Deep Node.js and TypeScript expertise.
• Strong system design for resilient integrations.
• Experience designing or operating a public API or SDK.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL with schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with Kafka-based event-driven systems.
• Comfort with Kubernetes for containerized apps.
• Proven refactor and mentoring experience.
• Ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of major integrations and subsystems.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party data providers and abstract them behind internal contracts.
• Design, evolve, and operate Worth's public REST APIs and SDKs.
• Translate ambiguous partner specs and requirements into clear designs.
• Write production code across backend and frontend with Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, and React.js.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas with indexing and data integrity.
• Build event-driven workflows with Kafka and Redis.
• Optimize slow queries and performance bottlenecks.
• Deploy, monitor, and debug containerized services in Kubernetes.
• Lead refactors of legacy code into modular adapters.
• Handle incidents and harden the system to reduce recurrence.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise team quality standards.
• Communicate tradeoffs across engineering, product, partnerships, and customer-facing teams.
