Job summary

Ascendion seeks a Senior Insurance Defense Attorney in Mississippi for a fully remote role with an 8+ year background in insurance defense. You will manage a caseload, conduct in-depth research, and draft key legal documents to support strong defense strategies.

Premises and general liability experience are essential; trucking familiarity is a plus. Salary ranges from 175,000 to 225,000 USD annually, with full benefits, flexible schedule, PTO and vacation time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of insurance defense experience.
• Premises liability and general liability experience.
• Commercial trucking experience is a plus.
• Admitted to practice law in Mississippi.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense cases from initial claim evaluation to final resolution.
• Conduct thorough legal and factual research and develop defense strategies for clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs to support defense strategies.
• Handle written discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare witnesses.
