Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of insurance defense and general liability matters.
• Handle all phases of litigation from case evaluation to trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.
• Coordinate remote court appearances, hearings, and mediations.
• Develop case strategies and communicate with clients and claims professionals.

Location: 100% Remote — Must be licensed & residing in Mississippi

Compensation: $130,000 – $200,000 Base Salary + Bonuses

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a caseload of insurance defense and general liability matters.
• Handle all phases of litigation, from initial case evaluation and pre-suit investigation through discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, dispositive motions, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions involving plaintiffs, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.
• Handle court appearances, hearings, mediations, and other litigation-related proceedings.
• Develop case strategies and communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and claims professionals.
• Manage deadlines, case files, and workload efficiently in a remote environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in good standing with the Mississippi State Bar.
• 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in Insurance Defense, General Liability, Personal Injury Defense, or related practice areas.
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, and litigation strategy.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and work effectively in a 100% remote environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 – $225,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
